MEET PEPPER NIX: Pepper’s interest in photography started early when she talked her way onto the high school yearbook staff without even owning a camera. She continued her photography path from high school yearbook to her college newspaper and was determined to become a National Geographic photographer. Meanwhile, a friend convinced her to shoot his wedding and Pepper soon realized that, “Shooting that wedding with all of that raw emotion, all of the joy and the happy tears, it felt more comfortable to me than anything else I had ever photographed.” This changed her trajectory entirely and she founded her own photography business as a college student in the hopes of making enough money to afford film, paper, and ramen noodles. She’s come a long way since her starving student days, and now—over 800 weddings later, having been honored with numerous state, national, and international photography awards, she still finds immense joy in her chosen career of wedding photography. Known as a savvy businesswoman and a phenomenal photographer, Pepper has proven herself to be an integral powerhouse in the wedding industry community.
