Vendor Spotlight – Pierpont Place and Premier Event Services

Today we’re at an award winning venue in downtown Salt Lake City, just steps from the Salt Palace. Their team also pulls double duty as Premier Event Services, a full service event company, whose talented staff provides design, coordination, and planning. Our vendor spotlight this week is Pierpont Place.

Adam: Thanks for meeting with me today Janice, it’s great to be here.

Janice: It’s good to see you.

Adam: You guys have been open since 2006, a good long while.

Janice: Yes

Adam: What sets you guys apart? What makes you a unique venue here in Salt Lake?

Janice: That’s such a great question. Our initial inspiration was to be a blank canvas. We start as a beautiful, blank, art gallery-esque, urban chic vibe, and then we transform it each and every time to meet the vision of the client and/or the party. We are pretty much as versatile as they come – we love to create one-of-a-kind events, and we have done everything from weddings to birthday parties. We do a lot of corporate parties with the conference center, with Visit Salt Lake, we’re half a block away. We love serving our community and the world. We’ve been able to do projects with London, different countries, a party for the London Convention Center which was a really unique and fun project. We’ve done gender reveal parties, we’ve done quinceaneras. You name it, we can do it. Fundraisers, we love to fundraise and give back to the community, that’s a big part of our business model as well. It keeps us on our toes, we have a lot of inventory, we have a lot of different looks and styles and a lot of different ways to transform the space.

Adam: I love that you talk about that. We’ve done a lot of events here over the years and every time the space feels different. Different decorations, different furniture, and not just different for the sake of being different, but really tailored to the event that you’re working on. And you guys do that not just here in this space but all over because you’ve got Premier Event Services also, right?

Janice: Yes, great question. We actually started Premier in 2001 and one of our first projects was the 2002 Utah Winter Olympics. And so that gave us a great opportunity for several years before we opened Pierpont Place to get into each and every venue and feel what their vibe is, how to work all the little details and idiosyncrasies about each venue to make us different and offer another new option. We take all of our talent, resources, and services on the road to any home, office, or location of our client’s choice.

Adam: That’s great, that means you guys are really experienced, not just here, there’s probably nobody around that you don’t know.

Janice: Right.

Adam: So people could call you for just about any type of event.

Janice: Yeah, we could do as little or as much as the client needs. If they just want bar service we have an amazing bar team. If they just want floral we have an amazing floral design team. Or if they want the whole kit and caboodle, full service, we can build that space from start to finish and provide all the services needed to create a great event. And that’s why we call you to help us out!
