MEET JANICE / FOUNDER AND CEO: Janice Boes is the founder and CEO of Garboes Group, which includes Pierpont Place and Premier Events. A California native, she moved to Utah to pursue a business degree at the University of Utah. Her skill and passion for event design motivated her to create Premier Corporate Events in 2001. After which she opened Pierpont Place in 2006, which quickly became known as an LA/NYC style contemporary venue, boasting a blank canvas that can be transformed to accommodate any vision or event theme. Janice has been the recipient of several industry awards and was recently named one of “30 Women to Watch” by Salt Lake Magazine. She has served as the chair of the Salt Lake Chambers Ambassadors Group and is currently the President of the Salt Lake City Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. Her creative spirit shines through each-and-every event that she skillfully executes, making her a highly sought-after event planner and venue coordinator, wowing guests and clients from around the world.

“The Salt Lake Bike Collective held its third annual Bike Prom at the venue after having worked with Janice the year prior as bar staff. They stepped it up and put the prior year to shame. Pierpont handled food, DJ, decor and bar. As well as staffing for the setup, take down and everything in between. More than accommodating with the decor, integrating bicycles provided by us with incredible lighting and drapery to create a beautiful and energetic atmosphere that changed as the outside light disappeared and the night progressed. The food was excellent, everything from sandwiches to fruit and pastries. High quality food, comparable to any french bakery around. The staff was great, working hard while while enjoying the night and dancing along with our music themselves. In all they created a wonderful evening that accommodated several of our strange requests and kept it all within budget. I would highly recommend considering Janice and Pierpont Place for any event.
