Kenny Fong Sax

KENNY FONG
SAXOPHONE & KEYS

Kenny is an Asian-American saxophonist raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He began his musical journey at a young age, studying piano from the age of 6. From there his passion for music grew, and he would later be selected to lead and conduct the Utah Symphony at age 11. In High School, Kenny left behind the clarinet and bounced around on different types of saxophones, starting on alto, switching to baritone. He would later pursue the instrument of his choice, the tenor saxophone, which he would eventually decide as his “main” instrument. He studied the immersive history and technique of the saxophone under Berklee and Manhattan School of Music graduate Patrick Cornelius, an accomplished alto saxophonist currently based out of New York City. Kenny has worked with numerous established cover groups and in 2017 began to tour the world as a show band woodwind musician aboard Queen Victoria of the Cunard Line. Now that he’s got his land legs back, we’re elated to have him join us as the latest member of High Society Party Band.
Ryan James Avery

RYAN JAMES AVERY
VOCALS AND RAP

Ryan James is a writer, rapper and vocalist raised in the Bay area of California. His passion for writing lyrics and poetry began at age 9. In the early 2000’s, his family moved to Kaysville, Utah where he performed with the Davis High Jazz ensemble as a drummer, venturing into the rock genre with multiple “garage bands.” During this time, he worked alongside his two best friends to build a home-studio recording R&B and Hip Hop records. As young entrepreneurs and artists, they released their CD music albums to the school and performed regularly. Later, Ryan began to focus on solo music projects and built his own independent studio and record label. In 2015 he relocated to Los Angeles, CA, to continue pursing lyric writing and music production projects. Back in Utah with his 9-year old daughter, he continues to work as a professional barber and model, as well as hit the stage with High Society—a true force of nature on stage and off. RICHARD GAILEY / DRUMS – Richard is a professional party band and studio drummer who studied Jazz Performance at the University of Utah and has played in multiple band projects over the years.

“They did an amazing job. All of our guests had the best time and it was due to the band.”
Amber F, Bride / Grand America Hotel
“High Society Band played at our wedding on October 6 at the Natural History Museum. I just wanted to reach out and let you know what a phenomenal job they did. They were professional, fun, accommodating and just a great band. Once they started playing the dance floor was packed. Please pass along our gratitude to the band members. High Society exceeded our expectations.”
“My husband and I hired High Society for our wedding in October. They were absolutely amazing, talented, and professional. All my guests were on the dance floor, even the non-dancers. My guests loved them, and we did, too. Highly recommend!”
“The High Society band was our entertainment at the Campbell County Republican Party Pink Elephant Ball. They were absolutely wonderful, energetic and had the best sound. Can’t rave enough about how great they were. Would have them back anytime.”
Darla C.
“We booked High Society AND LOVED THEM! They were absolutely incredible. High energy, fun music, great covers of our first dance songs, and interacting with the crowd in such a fun way. We got so many compliments on them. We were a smaller wedding so we felt a little silly having such a big band but they were 100% worth every penny and helped us have a special evening.”
Emily S.
“I put on a lot of events for my law firm, including large conferences and retreats. Sean and Carleigh’s wedding reception was one of the best events I have ever attended. And one of the main reasons was the High Society Band (along with the open bar – lol). They were fantastic. The set list was exactly what they wanted. Their energy filled the room. And they were flexible in accommodating our last minute requests, including letting Sean come onstage to play Piano Man with the band and agreeing to play a couple extra songs late in the evening. Please tell the entire band how much we appreciate their role in making Sean and Carleigh’s wedding an event that all 200 of their guests will be talking about for a long time.”
Steve B.
“They were my wedding band and were a HUGE hit. Absolutely everyone loved them and thought they were fantastic. Played the classics but accommodated most of our requests and overall were so much fun to have. Thank you!”
Bethany K.
